The Redmen Inspiration for Better Endings-Peer Mediation

This course requires an enrollment key

This program will give students an opportunity to develop self-awareness while receiving training in facilitation skills as a means to helping their peers. Training will be intensive and include areas such as; confidentiality, active listening, resource identification and referral, and problem solving. Students need to be willing to plan and perform many services to the school and community throughout the year. Criteria for selection into this course includes:

· A desire to help others

· A good attendance record

Expressions in Fashion
Teacher: Kim Root

Buying, marketing, and fashion design are exciting careers in today’s world.  Coursework will be done online and the student will learn the history of dress and the future of our wardrobes and fabrics.  Skills related to buying and selling in the retail business will be covered.  Innovative construction skills at an advanced level will be learned by doing in-class sewing projects.  Notebook from Basics of Construction will be required for this course.

Volunteering In the Community
Instructor: Kim Root

Volunteering is a positive opportunity in today's world. In this class you will have the opportunity to do just that. You will participate four days a week in two rotations of the semester. The rotations will involve one experience at a field in your desired career and the second rotation will be contributing to the community through a volunteer experience. The fifth day of the week the student will spend online doing journal writing and lessons as an independent study course. All participants will come together at the end and do a senior presentation at the end of the semester.
